Specification: Circa 4,050m² of a 2-3mm Type 5 epoxy self-smoothing system with an anti-slip top coat

The Brief

For this project, we needed to provide a hard-wearing system able to withstand vehicular traffic including clear demarcations for various uses. A suitable anti-slip finish which could be easily cleaned regularly was also requested.

The Arturo epoxy resin flooring system was chosen to create a hard-wearing, seamless and slip-resistant surface, which is guaranteed for many years.

Floor preparation

The whole area was prepared through captive shot blasting to provide a clean, sound floor surface suitable for receiving the proposed resin system.
The process

First, Arturo EP6500 epoxy primer was applied using medium pile rollers. Once cured, Arturo's EP2500 self-smoothing system was hand-applied by steel trowel before finally applying Arturo EP3910 high build epoxy anti-slip coating.
Final coating

This final Arturo EP3910 coat is pre-filled with a selected blend of fine aggregates to achieve a uniform dispersion when applied to the surface. To ensure a chemical key was achieved throughout, individual areas were masked off and the whole system applied on consecutive days.
The final result

The whole project was completed in 10 days and the client was keen to point out how impressed they were with the transformation and how well our team had conducted themselves on site. The Arturo resin floor is also extremely strong and robust whilst being easy to clean due to the seamless nature of the system.
